Obviously it was very much necessary! Cases like yours are when I am so grateful that we have such technology in this day and age to save mothers and babies. Yeah, it does get abused waaaayyyy too much (as it did with my son's birth) but not every time. I'm sorry you've had to endure nastiness about something that truly was the best thing to do. Some people can only see in black and white, and I feel sorry for them.
