The peri told me that they are really starting to see a connection with abnormal quad screens and future prematurity or preterm labor. I also had an abnormal Quad screen. The genetic counselor we saw suggested that just because the results may be negative for what it was suggesting (Downs in our case), it could be an indication of early labor in the future or premature delivery. I thank God for that statment. She is the reason I started really paying attention to my body and probably the only reason I went to the hospital 3 times in the days before Lincoln arrived thinking something wasn't quite right. I contacted her afterwards and thanked her for warning us and begged her to continue to do so wtih other Moms. I think I'll forego future Quad screens though...OH THE STRESS!
