Well, as you know I didn't vote the same way as you---I didn't love the other candidate either but I agreed with him a smidge more in several areas. But I have loved this election. Not the dirty mud-slinging that all candidates get involved in but the opportunity it afforded for my 3 teenagers (actually all the kids but the older ones "get it" more) to learn more about the process, policies, and our great country. My husband and I believe strongly in the constitution so neither candidates were our cup of tea but we were able to have many, MANY long discussions about our freedoms and what this policy or that policy will do to our freedom. My 14 yr old told me that he loved overhearing Jed and I discussing the issues when he was in bed and supposed to be asleep. Benji sat still for the longest time one afternoon asking me questions about each candidates stance. I went line by line describing their history and each issue. It amazed me that my Adhd kid listened and contemplated for quite a while! I could have a future politician on my hands!! One thing is for sure: This election year has made many people think a little harder and get more involved. All good!

p.s. As for HOUSE...Dr Chase is super adorable but I'm actually referring to Dr. House. I don't get it. In real life I despise mean people but for some reason he has that sprinkle of vulnerability that makes me totally dig his character! Could be the quick-witted humor and honesty that I like. Remember the show Becker? Me and my dad really liked him too. ;)

This was the 1st election that I really put a lot of thought into voting and I really researched viewpoints and what they were for and against, I however did not cast my vote for Obama, I just couldn't do it but he won so all I can do is hope and pray that he will do all that he has promised. Aidan looked like he had a blast on Halloween and yes he was a adorable firefighter!

Thank you so much for sharing! I have read so many narratives like this, and it never gets old, every time I am more touched, more inspired, and more in awe of what is happening in this country. I think Obama is very real and frank when he says this is OUR victory.

Beautiful post, and now I'm crying again reading it. That was my first election, too and check this out. I voted for Bush haha! I've always considered myself a democrat but voted republican in some local elections, including the republican who ran against our governor. I seriously live in the most politically corrupt state in the entire US, and it just so happens to be Obama's state lol! I didn't vote for Obama because he was black or a democrate. I voted for him because I believed in him and apparently the rest of America did, too :)

What an amazing piece of history we are a part of. It's time to heal!
